I've been working hard on my alternate picking for the past few months and even though I'm progressing nicely I'm starting to feel that I need to start working on something else to keep my interest going. I know there's a bunch of you here who can sweep pick pretty decently (to say the least).
So, how would you approach sweep picking if you wanted to learn the technique? I have a general idea of how it works but I don't know where to start.
Start with two string sweeps, playing basic pentatonic lines, then gradually add strings as you get used to it. It's pretty much just what it seems like, but getting individual notes to ring out cleanly across multiple strings takes some practice and getting used to.
