so i've been researching and finding sites to help me understand how drummers create beats and also to help guitarist learn how to follow the drummer. I found this site and it help me understand it more and thought I would post it here just in case anyone or anyone in the future searches for the same idea.
Make Your Own Drum Beats. Part 2 Building On The Basics. | How To Play Guitar.
please share other sites if you got them. This is very basic information so if anyone else would like to share some thought on creating more complex beats please do.

Found this site to be super helpful also in learning drums and beat counting with the different snares, hi-hats, ect.. ect..
Thanks for sharing these.
I think one thing that many guitarists fail to consider while writing a riff is the beat of the song, specifically where all the accents are, how the individual riff statements are ended or "capped," etc. You can go from a beat to a riff or a riff to a beat, but I never come up with a good riff that doesn't end up informing my drum beat later, or that isn't based off an existing rhythm pattern.
