I've spent the last few months trying to get my playing much more relaxed, and I can tell my picking hand is more relaxed, and i don't have all the shoulder tension i use to. But, my fret hand tendons in the wrist, sometimes get to feeling tight when I'm playing fast and intricate stuff. It hasn't kept me from playing. What are some good warmups/stretches for the tendons? I've been doing the "spider warmup". How long do you guys warm up?
As a butcher/meat cutter i work in the cold all day, about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I'm hope that's not cold enough to affect my tendons and stuff. I much prefer working in the cold, rather than heat.
Awesome job! I don't think that would really have too much to do with it, though.
I used to get pains in my left hand from playing too fast too suddenly. Honestly, the only real warming up I do these days is just chugging around until I feel comfortable enough to move up a speed or two.
