Basically, as the title says. I figured I'd post it in here as it's to do with the solo's flow and technique rather than any of the production. Although this is semi-recording-related, as I am currently tracking it for our demo.
I originally played this whole solo without wah, but felt it needed another dimension so I started adding the pedal. But then at rehearsal the alt-picked runs got lost and sounded way too sharp and toneless, so I figured I'd do some parts with wah and some parts without.
but... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4128689/Dark...nefootsolo.mp3 (this isn't the whole solo, just the first half, and it's unedited/unmixed)...
That sounds odd, right? To go from Wah, to non-wah like that? Maybe I could transition it better, or just... not have wah in the first part at all?
I didn't listen to the solo, but wah is always the correct answer.
