I have this question for all the guitarists that are self taught and that try to progress on their own but they find themselves stuck at some stage.
You have your tutorials, you have your books, you have your schedules, your routines... So what ( if any ) are the things that are currently stopping you from getting where you want in terms of technique and playing?
I'm very curious , because I am a business coach for a living, and I help
people to improve their performance at work, and I was thinking if there is a way to apply this to guitar.
Anyone wanting to share?
The thing stopping me from becoming a good guitarist technically, instead of just an ok one, is motivation. I don't really practice as such, I just play along with songs and jam on my own. This has developed my ear a lot, and I'd say I'm pretty creative, but my chops will probably never develop to the extent of real shredders. I guess I just want to play for fun, and spending hours playing scales to the beat of a metronome isn't my definition of fun.
