When I play, I often get string buzz on the low E. Initially, I thought it was a setup issue or even a neck problem. However, I begin noticing on more than one guitar, and other people's guitars too.
Additionally, when I play finger style, not matter how hard I hit it, there's no buzz. This leads me to believe it might have something to do with the way I actually pick.
Has anyone experienced this, and have you developed any way for developing better technique (angle, pick holding, etc) to get rid of/reduce it?
Seems kind of random as to what guitars pick up on it more than others or I've never really noticed any cause to it though I think floyd guitars are a little worse.
I've noticed that the string actually hits the closest fret, I try to lighten up a bit I guess but I've never really worked hard to try to resolve it. You could also try to pick more parallel to the body instead of at an angle. Raising the action helps a little but not really as much as you'd think it would at least the last time I've tried it.
Anyway just random thoughts.
