Now, I haven't really seriously practiced for ages, and want to get back into it as there's loads of things I want to get better at, so, wat are everyone's practice routines? How do you split them up? How long do you practice? What do you practice, is it one thing per session, or do you split your session up into little techniue areas doing all of them?
Tell me about it! I'll be stealing ideas, and trying out methods.
What I want to achieve is not getting bored with it, and keeping me interested so I can turn it into a habit again.
Well, I'm a noob but for shits and grins, I'll tell you what I'm doing. I'm using Andy James metal rhythm dvd series. On the first dvd he goes over picking (down and alternate), palm muting and left hand muting, chord progressions and variations, etc, etc. He also includes 4 drum tracks to play along with. Right now I'm using one of the drum tracks to practice picking with. Basically I'm just working on picking accuracy and timing along with muting. I know this is very basic to most of the folks on here but like I said I'm just starting out.
