Was looking at guitar books and got to thinking that maybe we could compile a list of good guitar books. Whether it be on scales, modes, theory, whatever. I don't have any to throw up first (), but I'm sure you guys do.
EDIT: Actually, I do have one: "7 String Guitar Chord Book" by Chad Johnson. It's a pretty cool little chord book. Has 350+ chords and it was only about $10.
Guitar Grimoire series is good for scales if you have a basic understanding of theory (their theoretical crash course has an odd way of explaining things).
As far as theory books go, in my classes we used the Music in Theory and Practice series. They have a nice, gradual pace. By the end of the first book you'll know most of the ins and outs of Baroque counterpoint (basis for all neoclassical stuff for us alternate picking addicts).
