Default Playing lead in Open C tuning...

is awesome!

Inspired by that Devy vid in Drew's tapping thread, I just retuned my headless to Open C (gotta love the R-trem for fast setups!) and have been practicing a bunch of different fingering approaches for scales.

Anyone want me to make some charts?

Just remember, there are no stupid questions, only stupid people.

Sure! It'd be great to get out of my standard 'box patterns' for a bit. I've been brushing up on my cello for some upcoming shows and I didn't realize how pentatonic I've been on both instruments recently, so trying something different would be awesome.

A completely subjective discussion of semantics? Awesome!

Awesome dude! You really do make some useful things!

EDIT: What would the 7th string be tuned too?

I kept my telecaster in open C for a few months. It's a great tuning to pick up because a lot of the scale shapes are very repetitive and easy to figure out. I might give it a go again when I have my recording gear so I can throw a song together in that tuning.

Yeah, Devin uses a low G on his sevens. It'd be interesting to do the opposite, and tune CGCGCEG, with a 7 or 8 gauge string on top, or even get an 8 and tune it GCGCGCEG...
