As I said in the other thread, this is a nice guitar but I never play it. Ever. I have a Sherman and a 2027, so I just never reach for this guy.
Here's the NGD thread:
Double NGD! (Carvin/Jackson content)
Here's me winning it for $685 on eBay:
CARVIN 7 STRING ELECTRIC GUITAR BLACK W/CASE WHAMMY - eBay (item 160565201727 end time Apr-03-11 20:02:12 PDT)
Here's the broken tremolo screw-bit on the LFR:
Licensed Floyd Fail.
If you don't care about the trem, the broken holder won't matter to you. If you do, you'll want to slap an OFR in there (that was my plan anyway).
The high E tuner has a bunch of backlash on it and needs to be replaced. If I can snag one before someone buys it, I'll swap it out. If not, I'll knock $25 off. It's playable and holds tune for short sessions on the high E, but it slowly loses pitch if you do a lot of bends. It's currently blocked with a Tremstop.
I like the guitar a bunch. The pickups aren't awful but they aren't good either, but that's the story of every single Carvin ever made. They're about on par with New7's. I got it in pretty much new condition, and it's still in that condition minus the wtf-Sperzel and my oops with the tremolo bar, which was a result of it just backing out on me while I was whoop-whooping away.
$600 shipped, with a mint Carvin case and whatever brochures and such I can find that came with it. I _think_ the body is Mahogany, board is ebony and markerless. It's setup 10-56 with brand new Elixirs.
I'm in no hurry to sell this so if you have something interesting to trade, I'll consider that too. It's a great guitar, but I'm trying to thin the herd a bit to pay for some house shit, and I literally have played it for less than 5 hours since I bought it accidentally.
Piano Black is such a good look.
