Periodically, because evidently I get off on hurting myself and my job sometimes just isn't quite effective enough, I decide I'm going to start running to try to get back into shape. I hate running, but the nice thing about it is you can do it in the sort of 40-degree late winter/early spring weather I wouldn't normally be caught dead in on a bike, and additionally you can get in a pretty good run in 20 minutes, by which time I'm usually just getting up to speed on my road bike.
I tried to take it pretty easy last night and not start off too hard, and I actually think I did a fairly good job of it - I finished a 2 mile jog in about 20 minutes, without completely cramping up/wanting to die at any point during the run.
That said, I'm taking it VERY easy on the stairs today.
I hate running. Unless i'm being chased by something and fear for my life, i generally avoid it.
