I feel the time is necessary for this. I've hit my heaviest that I've ever been and I'm very unhappy with my level of physical fitness. The things I'm the most concerned with are:
-losing body fat (percent)
-maintaining a healthy weight
Currently I'm at 6'2 and 308 lbs. My goal weight is 185lbs. I'm looking to lose the weight, keep it off, maintain the weight, and stay healthy.
-What should I be doing to exercise?
-running, walking, weight lifting, etc.
-How long/how often?
-What should I be eating?
-I don't want to be a body builder I just want to have a healthy weight and look nice
-What should I avoid eating/take out of my diet?
I hope this isn't terribly weird/personal, but it's something that needs to happen and it seems lots of folks here like to workout and help other people. I would really appreciate constructive feedback. Thanks!
Famous last words: "shit, I'm having a heart att...."
Start off with some fast paced walking. If my memory serves me right your body doesn't start burning fat properly until about an hour, so make them at least a couple of hours(somebody correct this if I'm wrong). fat burning is most efficient at 60-70% of your max heart rate.
To look nice you will have to build some muscle, but they won't show/look nice until you loose weight, so concentrate on the cardio training at first.
Food: eat lots of fruit and veggies, it fills your stomach and makes you feel full. Eat all you want.
avoid sugar in any form, candy/diet sodas are bullshit, avoid like the plague. If you have to have sugar, get a proper coca cola instead of a diet one(maybe use it to reward yourself if you've had a good week.) Drink water instead, lots of it.
Meat is nice! unprocessed meats specially(steaks and such)
Pasta is bad!
