I just started the Couch to 5K app, and I can see how it might work for me. It wasn't unbearable, yet I did feel a definite workout.
My brother in law did it awhile ago, and he'd never ran a day in his life. At 41, he lost about 100 pounds by cutting out as much sugars and carbs as possible (but not denying himself a few cheats here and there) and then doing the app.
I'm only about 40 pounds overweight, but running has been something I've loathed all my life.
We'll see how it goes! It could end up like every other fitness app; a deleted app!
I haven't really heard much about it, but best of luck!
Your brother in law was good in changing his diet, especially cutting out sugars, but most importantly not denying the occasional craving. Nutrition is half the battle.
