First off, not sure if this is the correct place for this but I quite honestly couldn't think where else to put it.
The situation I have is; I gave up smoking at the beginning of October (:Woohoo, during this period I hadn't been doing any vocals (well, 'orrible shouty style noises to most people ) in my band as we are in the process of working through the songs with a new drummer so I focused on that instead.
Now, whilst trying to lay down some vocals for another project apparently my vocal chords have forgotten how to do it with any gumption at all and any kind of proper technique, this in turn leads to my vocal chords feeling shredded by the end of a song.
Has anyone else ever encountered this, either themselves or another member of their band? Any tips, or am I going to have to completely start from scratch with my vocals?
First--congrats on quitting smoking!!
I've been trying for years.
For the vocals--just keep doing warm ups and drink warm tea with lemon.
