    2014 "Get In Shape" Thread

As Garrett put it last year:

Yeah, a lot of us mentioned it in our New Years resolutions. Let's all motivate each other and like mention our challenges and shit. <3 Who's doing what?
    My goals:

    - Finish a century on the road bike
    - Ride up the Mt. Washington auto road w/Drew
    - Ride 20 miles at an average of 20mph or greater
    - Finish a half marathon
    - Sub-25 minute 5K (26:31 PR for 2013)
    - Sub-50 10K (55:56 PR for 2013)

Fitness wise, I'm at 185 right now which puts my BMI around 26.5. I know it's kind of a useless statistic, but I'd like to get that around 25 or lower as well. My target weight is 180, which should be pretty easy. I just need to really focus on my diet and make sure that I take in enough good fats/calories per day. Towards the end of last season I was putting up some solid numbers, but getting fatigued on longer outings.

What are the rest of you folks planning?

I put a load if weight on over Christmas, and didn't make as much progress as I'd have liked last year (only hit half of my targets), so I'm gonna play it as it goes. First goal, lose the Christmas weight
I wanna run the Total Warrior this year too, but I said that last year...

I'm going to do a couple of those adventure race things too. They do the Spartan Race literally two miles from my house, and last year I wasn't nearly in shape enough for it. This year, definitely.

Also, here's my first run of 2014. Would love to be sub-8 for an entire 5k, but right now that's about as fast as I get.

    Wirelessly posted (Hivemind)

Doing the spartan race next month. Def behind on training because moving has been so fucked up but I'll catch it.

Back to the gym (doing starting strength) and keep on rock climbing, otherwise.

My goals are to get some better numbers and times with the Crossfit workouts, and we're doing the Paleo challenge starting in a few days. I don't really know much about it, other than I can't eat a lot of what I want to eat, but the woman is all about it, so I'm going to support her.

I haven't even really thought about any resolutions or goals because we've been so busy, but I'm sure a few will come to mind (i.e. doing a muscle-up) and I'll post back up.

I'm up to 175# these days, and while some of it is muscle, less of it is muscle than I'd prefer. Considering I graduated college at 135# and my job is super ultra sedentary, it's time to get to the gym.
