Ok, a bit of background on this. I've been doing Karate since I was 8, so have always been reasonably fit. However, about 3 years ago I managed to slip a disc and really screwed myself up. While inactive I lost a load of weight (about 10 kilos!) that I've never really regained.
I've just been getting back into doing Karate on a semi-regular basis again, but am getting back pains if I do anything really strenuous. So I was wondering if any of you guys had some tips on back-strengthening and general muscle building exercises?
I basically want to put on some extra muscle so my bones are nicely bedded in and won't be tempted to go walkabout on me.
Pilates or Yoga will help.
