I finally dragged myself back into taking my fitness serious due to a bit of a health scare. So I pulled out my shitty bike from storage at my mothers place as I sold my road bike several years ago when I got so large I exceeded the weight rating.
Started riding yesterday and pretty sure my lungs exploded, however the main pain I'm getting is in my ass. Namely the hip bones where I'm making contact with the seat. Quite painful and will make riding difficult. Any recommendations on a seat that'll minimise this or what to look for in potential ones? It's just a commuter type bike and in riding it around the streets on my area as they're pretty hilly and there's some rural roads 10 minutes down the road from me.
Get a pair of riding shorts. They help a TON, and if you don't like lycra you can wear a pair of loose shorts over them.
After that, your butt will toughen up REALLY fast. There's always a little bit of discomfort after the first couple rides of the year, but it goes away pretty quickly.
