Default I registered a while ago but I'm basically new

Hey guys, I've been a member here for a while but haven't been on really since I registered, gonna start getting more involved now. I'm a student from Ontario, Canada, and am working on recording an EP/album myself over the fall. I've stopped gigging for a lot of reasons and want to take the time to record music exactly as I hear it in my head.

Anyway, good to meet everyone, I'm gonna go look at all the awesome guitars here now

I've always heard about the site, but wasn't sure about juggling a lot of forums (I joined Tandjent and maybe posted like once, and didn't want this to be a repeat of that). It's funny seeing a lot of familiar names, seems like a good crowd

I'm not totally sure yet. I stopped gigging for a few reasons, but one of the big ones was the lack of musical freedom - bands in my town aren't known for their variety. I've got a small handful of songs/riffs in totally different genres, so I'm still trying to decide if I want to do a mashup to sort of show my influences, or try and flesh out my own sound. So far it's seemed a mix of the typical proggy metal thing with some hardcore here and there.
