Fucking hell yes! Thank you very much man! :D The rest of the site is a bunch of uncultured, filthy-homed savages who don't appreciate a good smelling home. You and I on the other hand - we're gentleman of good taste, and erm, good smell!

She basically represents how I imagine most "normal" people reading our threads would react.

Funny you mention the rolled back gain thing, too. I've almost always ran an OD infront of my Rivera, just because there aren't fuckloads of gain on it and also because the extra sustain and harmonics helped with my lead work. I've gotten a lot better over that time, but I've been fighting string noise and focusing almost solely on picking and fingering cleaner. On a whim, last night, I turned off the OD and went over my same routines and SURPRISE, my playing sounded 1000x cleaner. I'll still use the higher gain for straight lead work in a full band/live setting but it definitely inspired me to work start working with medium gain for more things.

Nothing wrong with that at all. I ran myself ragged with listening to just straight "shit that's too difficult for me to play" for about two years and what you described is a welcome departure. I still have mountains to cross with regard to playing and technique but I think I've got enough tools in my arsenal that I'd like to focus on writing, solely from the perspective of listening to things that inspire me. If people would drop their "I need to be big angry metal guy" routine and listened to more stuff like TWA and AA, they'd appreciate the dynamics going on there. :yesway:

*second paragraph amended to next post because the forum is getting pissy about my messages being too long*
