Sounds fantastic, but the high E and low B look like they'd fall off the edge of the fingerboard at the slightest provocation...

Yeah if you use that tuning no need for longer scale lengths and you could do some interesting stuff.

I'd do the same. It'd be so much more versatile. I'm quite keen on one of the regular-scale LTD eight-strings for that reason.

I like the switching on Tosin's Ibanez but fuck me sideways I hate low F# distorted. If I ever bought an 8 I swear I'd tune it A to G.

What's odd about that pickup demo is that it was D Activator-X in the bridge and neck. A pickup that hot sounding that good in the neck is almost illogical.

D-Activators are awesome! I really loved the way they sounded in Stu's Xiphos. The clean tone from the neck pickup is fantastic...
