    Ahh... patterns, right.

Chaos-infused patterns of unbelievable, or seemingly unbelievable, complexity, then. Requiring an essentially intuitive grasp of the rules of interaction.

I'm sure there's a field of mathematics similar to this.

Consider other peoples' point of view as a very complex, chaos-laden mathematical problem.

    Might help.

I still don't really see your point on the matter. Here's an example of spreadsheets being useful. Our customers at work usually do not have access to our database, but they request information from it sometimes. So, I quickly export a report of whatever they need to an Excel file, format it all pretty, and email it to them. For quick transfers of information like that there is no need for a database, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to send someone a CSV.

I'm not not doing a lot of things.

Keep in mind, too, that I said "every possible moment." I'm a busy guy, Jeff. A busy guy.

I continue to flooj at every possible moment.

Is that why you chose education? I'm marrying one of you types, a music teacher. The selflessness that she exhibits - the way she takes kids' futures so seriously - almost makes me feel bad about chasing money as an engineer. Pretty cool, man.

God damn, I love the way you put things.

Isn't it true that modern America, specifically, has the worst violent crime rates? Most murders per capita, etc? I realize and grant that we're really all beasts tamed by civilization (the promise of sacrificing our base instincts for the reward of future satisfaction), but I wonder if there's a difference between your average USA citizen and your average French citizen. Other than nominal hair and scent levels.

I have to concede that it's an interesting debate, really. For me, what's interesting is the whole "chicken or the egg" question - do we have violent tendencies because we love guns, or do we love guns because we have violent tendencies? It's irrelevant to me because I'm a prick of a libertarian, but from an anthropological or psychological angle, I find it curious. It's a shame that Michael Moore movie did such a bad job trying to answer it.

    Guns are fucking sweet.
