Yeah, I'd suspected the same about Laira, as there was a character in the original spread of the War of Light wearing a blue lantern's outfit who looked a hell of a lot like her.
It'll be interesting to see how all the rings work. I'd guessed that the red lanterns couldn't survive without their rings back when the first issue of this story came out.

No hints about the indigo ones yet though...

What're the odds either one of the blue lanterns revives her, or she shows up as a black lantern later?

I'm curious to know what the weakness in the blue light that Atrocitus mentioned is, and what the 'price' Ganthet and Sayd mentioned last issue is. You're right though, the blue lanterns are pretty irritating... I was kinda hoping Saint Walker would get his face stamped on by Atrocitus at least once this issue.

Doesn't suprise me about Hal, although it's hard to imagine how they'll manage to give him an orange ring without it seeming kinda contrived.

BTW...did you end up checking out Superman: Beyond? I got the last part of that as well, which was really cool, although just as much of a head-fuck as the last one. Mandrakk ended up being a pretty awesome villain.

I got it this afternoon. 'Twas a really good issue, although I was really suprised they killed Laira, as Johns had implied that there was going to be an on-going plot-thread involving her.

Could there be something Freudian about that?

I hope not, because in that case according to Freud, I'd have a serious condition in which I was confused and thought that I was really a cat, and I'd be wanting to roam the african plainis looking for a lion mate.
