Glad that's not total poo! I really like that 5s thing, and I'm convinced it's a pretty cool approach, and probably the only cool thing I've ever come up with, so that's great if you don't think it's uninteresting or trivial and obvious.
Seandude, here's that 5s pattern thing I mentioned. The tab alone should be enough (I wrote this for a Skype lesson with Bootsy), but I've just recorded a quick video of each variation, just in case the tab is too vague. Hope this is clear, and hope it's interesting. I think this is a really powerful approach. You can build lots of patterns out of it - you don't have to stick to 5s (as the last example shows), you can use it for triplets or straight notes, do all sorts with it.
Sean, homey, of all people, I really don't think there's anything I could show you! You've got excellent technique and chops, and an excellent understanding of theory. There's only two things I can think of that you might not find completely shit and obvious. One is an approach to playing odd number groupings, and the other is a really flexible approach for moving around the fretboard.
Lana: “It’s just we’re like two days into this whole drug cartel thing and you’re already addicted to cocaine.”
Pam: “Oh oh oh. So I should take life advice from an unwed mother? With a dirty car?”
Yeah i don't think you'd regret it. The MK V is awesome at low volume because you can run it in 10 watt and triode mode. I just found that for home use a valve head just creates a really oppressive environment after a while. Its cool to let rip to start with but your ears tire quickly and it heats up the room etc.
Yeah the II just keeps getting better. Every update seems to make it more and more worth the money i spent on it and they aren't cheap over here - about $3000
Hey, yeah I've always found the mk tones to be some of the most realistically recreated without having to put much effort in. I'm sitting with my guitar just now so i will throw something together and post it here for you if you want?
