While I'm generally happy with the sound of my new J-bass, the pickups, especially the bridge, leave a little to be desired. I have no experience whatsoever in replacing/choosing bass pickups, so I'd appreciate any help. These are the sounds that I am aiming for -
Neck - bright, open, clear for percussive slaps
bridge - strong, clear, tight for fast, galloping rhythms
The music I play on this bass is primarily hard rock - Rush, Iron Maiden - with some heavier metal thrown in occasionally.
I'm not really interested in "stacks" - single coils should be single coils. They're hum cancelling when used at full volume anyway.
Any help would be great
