Aw, c'mon guys. Don't hate! You can fly on a Rickenbacker! How many basses can you say that about?



I think the bass loses that ability if you put EMGs in it.

Too much weight eh?

Never bothered learning about Rickenbacker until Deicide started using them...not what i like definetely. Years since i played one though so maybe they improved.

With the exception of the 2004 addition of the push-pull tone circuit, the 4003 has been essentially unchanged (aside from minor neck thickness differences and a change to a better truss rod in the early 80s) since it's release in '81. They have started CNCing the necks and bodies in the early 90s, so at least they're a lot more consistent now.

So, no, it's not likely that you'd have changed your opinion based on a change in Rickenbacker.
