New synth day!

I've been thinking about picking up a vintage monophonic synth for a while - ideally a Moog Rogue or Prodigy. Last week a saw an MG-1 (basically a Moog Rogue repackaged for sale by Radio Shack back in the day) going for $250 on EBay. It was non-functional, being sold as-is, and I thought I'd take a chance.

Got it yesterday, and after an hour with the multimeter and service manual, I determined that the problem was the switch in one of the jacks was bad - bend the tabs a bit, voila, everything works perfectly

This thing sound AWESOME - definitely has that Moog squelchy bass and lead thing going on. I'll try to post up some clips and pics in a day or so, but it looks like this:

Nice! I just ventured into synth territory by purchasing a Korg X50 last week. Lots of fun!

That's hideous! Awesome. Can't wait to hear it in action.

With all those knobs & switches it must be able to produce some throughly hideous noises.

The Final Countdown was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Then the score to "Blade Runner"...
