I can pick up one of these for about $250, i just need a 5 string to record with; is this a good way to go? (love the maple board) |

I really like the Soundgear basses. For $250, that seems like a heck of a good value.

My favorite of the recent SR models is the SR600, but I bet that 305 with a good setup will do just fine. Just make sure you play the one you buy first too, some of the ones I've played have had serious neck twist/excessive backbow problems.

I have the SR305. Getting it for $250 would be insane. I bought mine here in Japan for about $400 (maybe a little more than that) and I got it at the cheapest place it was being sold.

I bought the black/rosewood version of that bass off of craigslist for $320. That's a great deal... i actually would prefer the white/maple combo...

$250 is a great deal on that bass as long as you can deal with the close string spacing. Rock on!

my first impression is that it plays great, the action came really low; and the neck is straight. Happy with the guitar, and hard to beat it for this price.   |
