Got my new snare (PD-120) and my extra 8" tom, so that I could use my old snare (which was also a PDX-8) and replace both my 6" toms with 8"s.
The snare is huge! It makes the toms look like they're small, but those are 8s, and they're pretty damn big.
The TD-4 head that I have actually doesn't have a setting for the TD-120, but it does have one for the TD-125. I'm not sure what the difference is, but it works just fine using the 125 setting on the 120 pad (it recognizes the different shots).
I'm on the fence about upgrading by brain, because I'd like to use the two spare 6" pads that I have. Thing is - I'm pretty much out of space on the rack. If I had to do this over again, I'd have done it piece by piece from the onset instead of buying the complete kit, and definitely would have gotten the bigger rack. ()
That said - this feels much better, and more importantly - looks much cooler.
That's cool stuff! How are the drummers you jam with adapting to it? I jam with my brother in law quite a bit, but he's got acoustic drums. This will be a severe problem when my kid arrives in April and we're left with no place to jam. I'm trying to get him to sell one of his three kits to get one of these setups, but he's apprehensive, still.
