I've been wanting a decent 5-string for awhile. I had a Music-Yo Kramer Baretta, but it had ridiculously wide string spacing and atrocious pickups that weren't in any standard form factor and couldn't be easily replaced.
So, I found this at Atomic Music and couldn't resist. It's a 1999 Korean Spector neckthru 5-string. It originally came with passive EMG-Hzs, but a previous owner replaced them with active EMG-35s. It has a 35-inch scale and sounds punchy and humongous. It's a beast. The quality is very high for a Korean-made instrument.
I'll probably replace it at some point with one of the Czech-made Spectors, but those sell for well over $1,000 used, and I just can't justify that kind of outlay right now.
Nice! Love those, as they're pretty much Operation Mindcrime in a box .
Do they have the arched back? That's like the most comfortable thing about Spectors.
