So I've had this for a couple months and am now getting around to messing with it. Disclaimer: I am not a bass player, lol! I just thought it'd be fun to add some bass lines to some stuff I've been working on so I picked this up from a friend for next to nothing. It's been in the original hard-case for the better part of a decade so I'm resurrecting it. Out of the gate all I've done is a quick cleaning, fresh battery, and some Kalium strings. It sounds absolutely massive!
From what I was able to find on the web, it's a '92 Ibanez SR885 built at the Fuji-gen plant. That's about all I can find, I'd really like to know what kind of wood it is, all I can say is that it's f'n heavy!
I'd like to clean it up alot better, since it's a natural finish with no clear coat, danish oil was suggested. Any thoughts?
Actually it's an SR1305PD. Padauk body, bubinga/wenge neck with a wenge fingerboard. If you got that for a steal, you lucky cunt, great score.
