This was built back in January. Parts are:
Warmoth Precision body in Black Cherry
Warmoth Jazz neck (nice and chunky)
EMG GZR P pickup
Gotoh 201B bridge
It has quickly become my favorite bass and my main player/workhorse. I can't speak highly enough regarding Warmoth and the quality of their work. I slapped the neck on the body and it was playable right out of the box. Their Jazz necks are also becoming my favorite necks - 1.5" nut but chunky like a thick Precision neck. Since they use steel bars for reinforcement by default, the basses sound a little more modern (Warmoth does have an option to install graphite bars in the necks instead of steel which supposedly imparts a more vintage sound to the bass). The EMG GZR P is a very balanced pickup with a little grunt in the low end and has a lot of clarity without being harsh - plus it can get nasty the more you dig in.
Total cost for all the parts was about $900. It took maybe 3 hours to finish the build. The scariest part was drilling holes into the finish for the pickguard, but if you take your time and go slowly you won't run into issues. Would I build another?? ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY.
I will promise to take more pictures either tonight or this weekend - it needs a good cleanup anyways from playing a couple of gigs last weekend.
