Ok, those who remember Sevenstring.org from maybe 2-3 years ago will recognize this song structure and chord changes... Yes, I realize I've been working on this album for an absurdly long time now, lol. However, the good news is while I liked the original song "idea," the "chorus" was just me jamming over the top, hoping eventually I'd think of something that worked. This went on for a couple years, until I realized that if I changed the chorus changes from A-G-D-G to A-E-D-E I could use a chorus from another idea of mine that I'd never really found a verse to go with. Thus, here we are...
Apologies if this mix is a little rough - I had a couple beers while I was fleshing it out, and then got into the Manhattans while I was fine tuning it, so it could very easily be WAY off base, lol. Likewise for the solo - it's not bad, but I have absurdly little time to practice these days so between the bendy melody and three takes on the lead break, my fingertips just didn't have much left. But, such is the purpose of demos...
This is, mentally at least, sort of "standing on a beach watching the sun set over the waves" music. I just need to find the right title to convey that. Until then, this is just "Bluesy Acoustic Demo."
And, for kicks, this is what it sounded like when I first started work on it, ages ago.
Listening back, it's kind of surprising how similar these are tonally.
I always thought you were joking about your album
