I wanted to experiment a little with this idea this week and I'm having some decent results. Now this isn't a tone of the gods I've got here, but I'd like to think it's a nice starting point.
I have my old trusty Rocktron Chameleon hooked up to my PC for direct recording and thought it'd be an interesting idea to run my live rig into it. The Chameleon has one of the best speaker emulators I've ever heard, and I thought if I could capture some of the Triaxis tone with the Chameleon's speaker emu, we'd have something special.
So here is a first attempt.
Triaxis is on L2 Red, Chameleon is on low gain pentode mode, minimal EQ (a little mid reduction, not much tho) and the speaker emu is on. I have the G-Force in there too, but only to gate the noisy Triaxis.
Here's the clip:
I'm also messing around with the Voxengo elephant limiter plugin so that's on there as well. And I have some rudimentary EQ plugin in there too.
Not too bad... first thought that popped into my head is that it might be missing some mids, though. But I like that type of sound.
