I've recorded a song and i've got my tempo track with all my audio recorded and synced to the midi file. (just as you would regularly do if you were recording a song)
I've been given vocals to add in which were recorded perfectly in time with the song. He recorded it with the .mp3 of the whole track imported into logic and then recorded over it. Project tempo in logic was 120bpm (the default for most new projects) and sampling rate is same as mine 44.1khz.
he's sent me the stem files and i've imported them into my cubase project and they're all in the right place, HOWEVER.
The vocals seem to be speeding up or slowing down according to tempo changes in my project? It's as if its treating his audio as midi with my tempo track. How the fuck can i deactivate his vocal tracks from my main project tempo? or indeed can i create seperate tempo tracks for each of his vocals and set them to 120 so that they're in time?
It's driving me insane and I don't want to get him to have to do them all again because of this.
oh a wee note:
I created a brand new project and loaded all those vocal tracks in on their own. they STILL adjust speed with the tempo track in the new project but when i import a fully mixed song like for example - summer rain by sikTh and i adjust the the tempo track for that, it wont speed or slow down that song at all?!
wtf is going on...
i'm guessing time warp issues or something but I don't know??
if you can help it'd be appreciated.
try to turn off the musical mode on the vocal track. there's a button on the track with a note on it.
click that and it goes into linear mode(two small rings appears on the button) I think it should work.
