I thought it would be a good idea to post what I'm working on for feedback and to share recording talk.

I recorded this clip with an alder strat with a dimarzio dsonic in the bridge plugged straight into my 6505+. The guitar has no pots in the circuit, just a pickup selector. It is more clear bright and powerful that a normal configuration, it just isn't right for every situation. The tuning is BEADGB. I used the lead channel with the gain on 6.5, the bass and mid at 5 and the treble at 6.5. I used the infamous S-Preshigh impulse from the "Catharsis awesometime fredman" set. I got the signal from the power section. One speaker out was wired to the speaker cab and the other to a direct box that turns speaker level into line level.(ART z-direct).
The bass is an Ibanez BTB 776 tuned to BEADGB. I have the preamp disconnected so it's now passive(the pickups are actually passive). I was using the neck and bridge 50/50. It was plugged into the guitar rig and was recorded identically as the guitar.
The drums are Steven Slate Drums EX. Not too much to say about them other than I EQ the low end because it's too much.
The mastering chain is just for loudness... and a lot of it. I think this one is at around -10db RMS power.
Looking forward to your talk/feedback/disdain/praise
Yep, that's a 5150. You can spot that amp a mile away.
I think the rhythm guitars a touch too high. They're burying everything else. I like the fundamental sound of them, though. Nice and aggressive.
