So, playing around with the new POD HD500, here's what I've got for a heavy tone right now. There's 4 tracks of guitar, 1 track of bass (also through the HD500, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised at the sound I got), and a stock Superior 2.0 groove. I used one of the Sneap presets in S2.0 and boosted the kick and room mics a bit, and did minimal mixing (compression and EQ on bass, hi/lo-pass on guitars, limiter on master).
I think, more than anything, this showcases that I really did grow up on The Black Album
Alright, here's some raw, unprocessed tracks:
Bass (mix of direct with EQ and compression and Hiwatt amp model, all done in the HD500, strings aren't as new as they should be):
Guitars (Squier Strat VII, stock pickups, brand new strings):
Damn one of the best clips I've heard of this thing. Diggin the riffing and tones! Haha Black album ftw!
