How are you guys that use it on the regular liking it? I know Nolly has his own setup for it, but I'm mostly talking about the guys that don't have the ability to fart and make it sound hi-fi like he does.
I've been experimenting with the basic stock setups, and they're all a bit on the reverb-heavy side. It has me wondering if this is the right way to get them in the mix.
For example, here's a short piece of a drum pattern using just the default "Legacy" setting in the Sneap Presets. This uses Metal Foundry and the Avatar kit:
Edit: Same as above, with the Chamber (verb) bus turned off.
Same exact pattern with the LOG Jocke Skog preset:
And here's me fiddling with it just a tiny bit, mostly just taming the obnoxious snare in the above one. I'm actually not too fond of any of the snares in these clips, but here's two default presets plus one that I'm fucking around with.
You guys who are actually making good sounding recordings - are these close to what your raw drums sound like? The Sneap stuff especially, it's either covered in reverb, or sort of flat sounding. I was expecting something a bit more face-punching, but again I know fuck all about this kind of thing.
That first snare has WAY too much reverb.
Is there a way to get the presets "stock", without a lot of the reverb and effects, and just go from there?
