So, my guitarist informs me he is homeless and dumps a shit ton of his gear off at my house "until further notice" the other day Part of this pile of gear is this heap of junk Warlock he's had since time began, and asks if I could sell it for him (yes, it's in the FS section! £85 obo, anyone? )
I picked it up and played it for a laugh, and it was fun. So I figured "hey, I could record a clip to place in adverts to aid selling it!"
So I did.
Then I got to thinking "budget guitars are horrid sounding, horrid playing, horridly assembled heaps of crap, we should pool some recordings with them!".
AND SO WE SHALL!
Anyway, here is my effort. I figured I'd make a little format template for posting them.
Guitar: BC Rich bronze series Warlock
Age: No idea, can't find a date anywhere, but I'm guessing about 4-6 years
Upgrades: None, totally stock
Condition: Chipped here and there, super old strings, a surprisingly nice neck, though, it has to be said.
Recording Process: Had to boost the gain a ton on input, and also tuned the 9-42 strings down to drop B for extra twang Only dual tracked, and sloppily played! Just a totally winged riff, one of those ones you play differently every time you try to track it
Sweet idea, definition of budget guitar?
