I'v been dabbling with some amp sims lately and get decent results. I'v heard some people get amazing results.
I guess my issue with them is that i cant listen to my playing with the processing on it in real time. I get latency. The only way i'm able to use them is to split my guitar signal and send a clean to the computer and one to my amp, but my amp doesnt sound like the processing and it makes it difficult to play. And playing a distorted part with a clean tone and planning on putting the distortion on later just messes with me.
How do you guys use amp sims? Do you record with split signals, or do you just play clean and run it into the sim and distort it then? Or do you get real time non latency? Is there anyway to adjust your latency?
(i'v tried asio4all2 and cant figure out how to get it working in win 7)
I go clean, you get used to it pretty fast.
