So, it seems I push my year old Macbook Pro a little too hard.
It's incredibly frustrating to keep getting yelled at by a stalled Logic telling me it doesn't have enough CPU power. I don't remember the exact error at this moment, but the little CPU bar at the bottom is red.
Anyone have any pointers or advice to help this? I understand this is a CPU discussion, but would upgrading my RAM help at all?
Side-note. On Cloudyhead's "Analog," the track A CPU Error Has Occurred is named after the frequent error message given to me by Pro Tools.
Also. Please don't waste my time with "Buy a Windows system" comments. I can't afford to sell this and set up a whole new OS recording station, both money- and time-wise.
Unless it's really funny. That's okay then.
More RAM will never, ever be a bad idea. How much memory do you have right now, and what's the CPU in the Macbook?
I can run the fuck out of Reaper on my MBP. How many VSTis do you have going/effects per track?
Also, do you run smcfancontrol? If not - do it, and have your fans spin up higher when you're recording. It could be a heat issue - MBP's run hot as hell.
