Hi dear metal guitarists! here looking for some advice regarding recording some metal
I don't know whether i should ask this here or not but hey I'll give it a shot :P
I currently posses an Alesis IO|2 audio interface that I use to record guitars, bass, vocals and drums. I find it quite good, but when I bought my condensor mic maybe 6 months ago they said at the music store that I should invest in a better audio interface.
They recommended Apogee, or Presonus if the Apogee was a little high in price. I then got a recommendation from elsewhere that I should go for a Focusrite scarlett.
I assume that most of you would say that the Apogee is the best one, and I agree, but the price is a little hefty, so I was thinking of either the Presonus or Focusrite. I would really appreciate any info about which one of them that I should go for. The Presonus ones are a bit higher in price but that's ok.
I have a Focusrite Saffire USB interface, which looks pretty similar to the Scarlett, and it's great. It has a few different options for gain control up front, which comes in really handy. The Saffire is built really sturdy too, so I recommend it or any of their other stuff. You can also set the buffer length for any lag you may have, which helps too. For $200, it's hard to go too wrong. Hope that helped!
