Ok, so Here's what I have....
Lenovo K300 with 4GB, 640GB sata II, Win 7 64-bit premium running Sonar 8 producer and using an m-audio profire 610.
So I've been dealing with a latency bug since I picked up this profire 610. Did all the searches, finally ended up dL'ing ASIO4ALL. That helped. Last night I got it to where there is no latency during monitoring. Say in the instance that I'm set up and ready to record, track is armed and ready to go, it's fine, no latency, no digital distortion. I did a test track and when I went to playback, i've got some crackling (digital distortion) coming through. Do you guys have any thoughts as to what settings I need to be tweaking? Do I need to look into increasing the buffer size? Bear with me, I'm not the most computer savvy (remember, I'm old)! The help is GREATLY appreciated!
I have heard that people have had troubles with that profire 610 but I want to try everything before I dump it.
This isn't your interface/DAW, but perhaps some help might be found here:

If it's crackly and distorted, increasing the buffer size in your ASIO setttings is usually the fist thing people recommend.
I know you're using Sonar, but since Reaper is downloadable, can you record a quick track with it and see if you have the same problems? That'd be an easy way to determine if it's the interface/your computer vs a setting in the DAW.
