    UA Apollo Interface

    Just venting my lust.

Apollo High-Resolution Interface with Realtime UAD Processing

A presumably stellar analog front end, flexible I/O routing, sexy ITB mixing console, built-in UAD-2 hardware acceleration, awesome meters and control. This has to be the best Firewire (Thunderbolt this summer) interface ever.

I think the included plugs and analog section alone are probably worth the ticket price.

Don't worry about people talking behind your back, it just means you're one step ahead and they're in perfect position to kiss your ass!

Is it just me or does its layout and mixing software rather resemble a pro40?

Looks like a great unit regardless. As is the pro40, but still, with UAs reputation behind it and the ability to act as a UAD2 as well, it does set the bar pretty high.

But, my FF800 is going nowhere. That hasnt so much as given me a single dropout, this looks like it might be the better unit on paper, but its not easy to turn away from reliability like that.

You like the Fireface eh, Mark? I was checking those out too.

I think this unit will make a beast of a core to a very expandable and flexible system. Saving pennies...

I have to believe with UA's name and a $2k+ pricetag on it, it will perform.

I also can't believe Thunderbolt will be worth a reported $500 for the expansion card.

My only experience with UA stuff was the 6176. Which is fucking awesome. I want one, even though I have very little use for it.

This is hot! Very interesting to say the the least. I'm going to check in to this further, great post!
