with this in mind, and Dave's illiteral interpretation of the thread being about a compilation, let's have a MetalGuitarist compilation disc put together. the deadline could be December 31st, 2009. or, maybe by June of next year, with a release in December.

the *prize* would come from sharing sales of the disc to members, and others.

Or, keeping the compilation idea in mind, instead of the sales going to the members, we could put a bunch of charities in a hat and have Chris video the outcome of the draw in the usual hilarious way

If anything it's an excuse to get Chris to better the dog bone thing from the previous site for our entertainment

I actually sort of like the charity idea. I don't know how feasible it is to produce and sell an album as a site, but if it's not too much of a royal pain in the ass for all parties involved I wouldn't be adverse to trying...

we just need one trust-worthy jerk who knows what he's doing to get through the red-tape, who can keep a percentage for his work, and the rest can go to the site

I dunno if my band is gonna do the full length before the end of the year, but the Demo will be out in mid january.

They did something similar on the Satch forum a few years ago when I used to be a frequent poster there.

I think one of the rules was that everyone had to acquire their own copyright for their song so it wasn't all left down to one person to fanny around with. I'll try to dig up the rules to see if we can base them off what they organised

I thought it was like a compilation album at first. I'd be in if I had a clue about recording. If a compilation album comes up though, I'm in for that. Going to do some work with a producer friend of mine next year, studio here we come
