That's a hefty jump in gauge for the same tension. That's interesting.

i'm not entirely sure it's tension either though, it's got to do with flexibility too. the measured amount of tension might be the same for both strings at the same gauge, but one will move more than the other, and feel more rubbery by comparison.

I guess you should ask them about it though, i have no clue.

The odd thing, though, is that the .86 i put on the baritone now replaces my .85 D'addario bass string, but i asked for something equivalent to about a .80-.82 gauge one, yet it's much more alive and bright and snappy than the .75 i had on there in the same tuning earlier.

make sure your basses are not string through body there's a notice on the site that the strings are not long enough to reach on those types of bridges and they won't refund you.

My bridge has the option for both luckily. Also curious to try the guitar strings.

I got my sets today, installed one on my mhb400 (27" Scale) used the 10-53 set for Drop C tuning.

I got to say I missed the feel of balanced tension, this set is tight on a 27" scale which feels great to my hands and I would recommend a thicker set for shorter scales.

I'll write more about them later on, this is just initial thoughts from playing with it for about an hour.
