I can't say I'm new to recording...what I can say is that I'm ready to start learning how to make good recordings.
Right now my equipment consists of a few guitars, a bass, a POD X3, and a copy of Reaper that I just bought. My first project will involve making a better recording of a song I recorded when I was 16 (5 years ago):

On to my question... Having just spent a decent sum of money on a new Carvin and Reaper, I would like to know if there are any decent drum programs I can use while I focus on recording guitar and bass that are either very cheap or free. I fully intend on getting something like Superior Drummer in the future, but I would like to get recording bass and guitar down before making that kind of investment.
Any kind of advice or help would be appreciated, thanks.
Bluenoise Plugins Drum Mix Metal.
Very basic, and lacking variety but there isnt anything else I know of that will give you sounds as good for as little money. I have Superior 2, metal foundry, the original superior samples (2 can load em and I got 2 through upgrade) and a tonne of slate, and I still sometimes prefer the bluenoise. Especially the toms. Love those toms.
Anyway, enough waffle, best 30 quids worth of drum software out there imo. Do it.
