    A little MCA tribute...

    Myself and a student decided to do a mini version of a Beastie song. He played the guitars and I played everything else (poorly). He used his rig which consists of a Peavey Vyper combo and some pedals. We miced it with a 57 and an MD 421. Bass was direct with a SansAmp plugin for fuzz. Drums were miced up with a AKG D112 on kick, 57 on snare, two AKG 451s overhead, and some Sennheiser clip-ons on the toms. All of the aux percussion was done with Neumann KM184s in a basic XY pair. The organ is the virtual b3 that comes stock with Pro Tools. Everything was recorded separately to a click. Hope you like it.
