I am in the middle of a mix right now and completely have myself stumped this is my first time mixing so please bare with me if this is a noob discussion.
I'm trying to fix out sends busses tracks etc....
Pretty Much I'm Wondering I am using Sonar X1. I have for example 4 guitar tracks total. They were record DI through a tascam us122. I then take the signal and put it through amp sim, cab sim, and some various effects. I have my tracks set up as 2 rythem guitars audio output into a rythem cab bus. 2 Lead guitars tracks with audio outputs into a lead cab buss. My question is should I really be sending those sounds to the busses via audio output or should I use the send feature.
Also later on in the mix I will be taking those busses for all my tracks: drums, guitar, bass, keys and putting them through a reverb. Should I have the busses audio output set to the reverb bus or should I use the send feature? If at any time I am to use the send feature what shall I have the audio output selected as. SO VERY CONFUSED LOL
Doesn't really matter but if you're not going to use a split on the original track you might as well put the output to the bus you want it to be routed to. But no rules really.
HERE I would normally use the SEND to a bus instead. Create a Reverb bus and send how much you want of every instrument bus to it. Then just use the reverb fader to adjust its(the reverb) presence in the mix.
