So my buddy is a drummer. He just recently bought his own house and has the basement all to himself. The problem is, he hits his drums like Thor smashes his hammer and is loud as hell. Plus, the house he bought is in the same neighborhood as mine and the houses are 75 to 100 years old on average. Its decently loud outside. He also has a lady friend upstairs that doesnt enjoy his skin beating too much.
We were talking about making a room in the basement to put his drums in, but on somewhat of a budget. No specific dollar amount, but not too insane price wise. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go with this?
I figured a drywalled room, both sides, 2x4's and insulation, plus drywall on the roof would go a long way and probably come in around 200 bucks give or take. Would that be enough do you think? Any better suggestions?
Kim will be a wealth of info here.
