Testing out Toontrack Metal Machine (D-standard thrash metal.)

This is also a new idea me and my guitarist have been working on. It suddenly dawned on us the other day that the last 5 songs we've written have all been over 200bpm. I don't know when we became a thrash band exactly, but, it's happening

Firstly I'd like to say - I fucking love these samples. Sneap has done a stellar job and they are just fantastic straight out the box. Even on the default construct screen, with no processing or level changes, they sound fantastic.

I don't know if this is down to any certain level of pre-processing they have had, or if they were indeed just amazingly well engineered (or a mixture of the two, perhaps), but when it comes time to actually mix what you have programmed, the level of tweaking is incredibly minimal. It's more just a case of picking the drum(s) that suit the mix and then exaggerating their qualities as opposed to having to do any extensive alterations.

I plan on reviewing it fully for my website after more play-time but there it is, in a nutshell.
    Recording. Mixing. Mastering. Editing. Re-Amping.

Thank you sirs! This is definitely a step up from anything Toontrack have put out before, particularly to note are kicks and overheads (especially ride).

Is that tone through the TR or the 6505?

It's what I use myself. Mixing them is so stupidly easy it's not even funny - yet another stellar job from Mr. Sneap, which is hardly surprising.
